Q: Is there a minimum total amount for items that I am selling?
A: No, but we recommend that your total amount of items that you are selling be at least $50 so it is well worth your time and it covers your $7.00 non-refundable fee to sell.
Q: How do I update my contact information or password?
A: Updating this information can be done by logging in to your account and selecting “My Account” from the top of the page. In the screens that follow you can update your address, phone number(s) and email and change your password if necessary.
Q: I am registered as a volunteer and have decided to also consign, what do I need to do?
A: Please send us an email and we will convert your registration to a seller so that you can pay your registration fee and begin tagging.
Q: Can I use a tagging gun to attach my tags?
A: Yes, we encourage the use of tagging guns.
Q: Why do you ask for wire hangers to be used?
A: We find that wire hangers fit better and slide more smoothly on our clothing racks. Wire hangers also allow you to pin your items to your hangers.
Q: Where can I find wire hangers?
A: These can be found online, at a dry cleaner, a dollar store, or a super store or by asking family members to save them for you.
Q: Can I sell my item that was part of a recall if I applied a manufacturer fix to it?
A: If there is a manufacturer fix that can be applied to a recalled item to allow it to be sold, that fix must be well-documented and proof of the fix (i.e. instructions and the packing slip) MUST be attached to the item.
Q: Can someone else pick up my unsold items?
A: Yes, if you are unable to pick-up your unsold items up during the designated pick-up time you may have a friend or family member pick them up on your behalf. Please email or call to inform us if you are having another person pick-up your items. Thank you.
Q: Why was I logged out of online tagging?
A:Each night, the My Consignment Manager database is taken down for routine maintenance. Daily maintenance typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Occasionally throughout the year, the site is taken down for maintenance and upgrades for longer periods of time. Usually those times are planned for in advance and normally in the early morning hours when most consignors are not accessing the system. In our sale season when we are made aware of downtime in advance, we will notify all users ahead of time. If you try logging in and encounter a message regarding site maintenance, please try back again in about 30 minutes.

A: The best answer is to sign up to be added to our mailing list. This will get your information in to our system to receive notification each time our sale opens for registrations and to receive reminders on our shopping days. If you are a Facebook user, we also recommend that you like our Facebook page and be sure you are receiving our notifications.
Q: May I bring my child along with me to shop?
A: While we do allow children to attend our sales, we also find that your shopping experience is more enjoyable if you are able to attend on your own. If you must attend with your children, we do ask that they remain under your constant supervision.
Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: We accept cash and credit cards. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Q: What is the pre-sale?
A: The pre-sale is the early shopping session that we hold the evening before our sale opens to the public. This session is open to groups that are pre-registered as a consignor or volunteer.
Q: How can I shop in the pre-sale?
A: There are a few ways you can gain entry in to our pre-sale. You can volunteer for just 2 hours and shop in the pre-sale beginning as early as 2:30 pm (entry time depends on number of hours worked). You can register as a consignor and receive a pass to shop with one guest beginning at 5 pm. You can check if you qualify as a new or expectant parent and register to shop with one guest beginning at 6 pm. You can offer to distribute flyers to a local daycare, preschool or other family-friendly business and receive a pass to shop with one guest beginning at 5 pm.
Q: Can you tell me what you have in inventory?
A: We never know exactly what we will have in inventory until the Wednesday of our sale week when our consignors drop off their items.
Q: Who sets the prices on the items?
A: Our consignors set the prices on their items.
Q: Are the marked prices negotiable?
A: No, the prices are not negotiable. Prices are set by our consignors and we have a responsibility to sell their items at the stated prices.
Q: What happens to the unsold inventory?
A: Our consignors have the option of donating their unsold items to a charity of our choice. Over the years we have donated thousands of items to The Thrift Store. Any items not donated at the end of the sale will be returned to the consignors.

A: Unfortunately no, we ask that you do not bring young children along with you to volunteer.
Q: What should I wear when I volunteer?
A: We suggest that all volunteers wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If necessary, we will provide volunteers with aprons to wear during their shift.
Q: What if I want to help, but don’t see a shift that fits my schedule?
A: No worries! We are happy to review our schedules for additional shift availability and simply ask that you send us a short email with the day and time you wish to help.
Q: If I signed up to help and find that a conflict has come up, what can I do?
A: If the volunteer schedule is still open, please log back in and remove yourself from the shift. If the schedule is closed or you are having difficulty removing yourself, please email us and let us know so we can take care of it for you. If your conflict arises last minute, please send a text message to the phone number provided in your sale week email so that we know you can’t make it.
Q: Why can’t I bring a guest along with me to shop in the pre-sale?
A: Pre-sale shopping is a special incentive we offer to our volunteers who assist us for a minimum of 2-hours. We welcome additional volunteers and recommend that if you have a friend who would also like to shop early that you encourage them to sign up to volunteer too!
Q: Can my husband help out in my place?
A: YES! Some extra muscle goes a long way in helping set up and tear down the sales floor. Feel free to sign him up under his own name or under your name and then send him in your place. An email alerting us to who is coming would be extremely helpful in our planning.
Q: Can I sign up to work with my friend/mother?
A: Yes, we have many moms and mother/daughter teams that work together and then shop together!
Made4Kids is a ministry that provides a positive and quality experience for consignors, volunteers, and shoppers while serving the community and families through monetary and physical donations.
Once our bills are paid to allow the Made4Kids Sale to happen, all the remaining profits are given to local non-profit organizations that benefits families and children who are currently in need.
What a wonderful organization! I have been buying and selling my boys’ clothes at Made4Kids for years now! It’s a great one-stop-shop for clothes, toys, books, baby gear, and accessories. I love being able to support my community through this sale. It is organized, both on the seller end as well as the shopping process. As a seller, I love being able to shop early and see my sales totals each night on the website. As a buyer, I love how easy it is to find sizes and categories. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! ☺️ Thank you for all the hours you put in!
